Tools Other Tool Sources
Samegawa We sell only the highest quality same which come directly from Japan unlike others who obtain theirs from the Philippines. The price of same normally varies according to the size, cleanliness, pattern and size of the nodules. All of our same are extremely clean so our prices vary according to the remaining characteristics. If you are wrapping a normal tsuka and only need regular quality then #5 same would be the best choice. Grades #3 and #4 are larger in size and suitable for 12" tsuka and vary only in the pattern and size of the nodules. Of course grade 1 is the best of all worlds. A #6 grade is sufficient for a tsuka wrap of a wakizashi in size. Size expressed below are approximate and will vary slightly. Grade 1 (13" x 28") Grade 2 (11" x 25") Grade 3 (10" x 24") Grade 4 (10" x 22") Grade 5 (9" x 20") Grade 6 (8" x 20") This picture shows the highest grades on the left with the last two being grade #6
